“What makes you motivated to teach?”

“[S]yempre, [ang] kaharap ko mga estudyante. So, ‘yung different people, iba’t ibang character, doon ako namo-motivate kasi sabi ko nga nakaka-challenge ang mga estudyante ng AB. […] Sa isang araw, ilang section, different individuals.”

“Do you have life-changing experiences throughout your teaching career?”

“Too many to mention pero siguro ang masasabi ko na lang, sa teaching kasi, ito na talaga ‘yung naging buhay ko e. Kaya ‘pag tinatanong ako [kung] bakit hanggang ngayon ay single pa rin [ako], [it is] because I’m taking up Ph.D. Hindi nga lang Doctor of Philosophy, kung ‘di ‘PangHabang buhay na Dalaga.’ Kasi naging focus ko na talaga kayo.”

“How do you want your students to remember you?”

“Ang gusto ko lang naman talaga, ‘pag sinabi mong, ‘Ah si Ms. Yanga, masayahin yan,’ ‘Si Ms. Yanga, maraming mga life lessons ‘yan na ibinibigay,’ ‘Yan si Ms. Yanga, pwede mo siyang kausapin,’ ‘Si Ma’am Yanga, she’s like a friend, she’s like a sister.’ Kasi lagi ko namang sinasabi na inside the room, I am your teacher, I am a person of authority, but outside the four corners of the room, I am your friend.”
