Rock, Paper, Scissors, & You

ELIJAH JOHN M. ENCINAS/ THE FLAME

Rock.
Rough around the edges,
Unyielding and brave.
Stubborn and warm,
Independent as the sun.

Paper.
Light, but not weightless,

A mind of pure peculiarity.

Neither blank nor dull,
Always a page of mystery.

Scissors.

We, a pair that severs all other cords.
When fondled with flattery,
You speak with sharpened truth.
Closer to you, I drew.

You.

The partaker of this journey.
Remember the oath of friendship.
We took it once and for all,
In that vast field of a blissful childhood. DAWN DANIELLE D. SOLANO
