THE FACULTY of Arts and Letters (AB) Men’s Volleyball Team eased past the College of Science (Science), 27-25 and 25-21, posting a 2-0 win-loss record in the preliminary round of the Thomasian Goodwill Games held Wednesday at the P. Noval Court.

Wayne Nathaniel Parulan’s barrage of seething attacks and errors by the opponent led AB to a 6-0 run, 23-17, but Science forced a deuce in the first frame after capitalizing on AB’s error.

Science dominated the early part of the second set with a 4-0 run. AB fired back with hits and blocks from team captain Russel Wilfred Estrada, earning the Dapitan-based squad a 6-point lead, 17-11.

Science recovered from the slump after AB’s consecutive errors, closing the score’s gap to two points, 20-18, but AB’s combined offense and defense still prevailed in the match.

“Kahit may errors, bawi lang lagi as a team,” Estrada said.

AB will face the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery on Nov. 11 at the P. Noval Court. ALI IAN MARCELINO V. BIONG
