THE SANTISIMO Rosario Parish of the University has called on Thomasians to submit personal testimonies of devotion and answered prayers as part of the petition for the episcopal coronation of Nuestra Señora del Santisimo Rosario de la Universidad de Santo Tomas.

In a memorandum dated April 8, the Office of the Secretary-General said the initiative seeks to support the parish’s petition for the episcopal coronation of the University’s patroness, which was formally launched on March 21.

According to the memorandum, the parish is gathering narratives from Thomasians who said they received graces, favors or blessings through the intercession of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. The testimonies are among the requirements for the petition.

“Thomasians who may have received particular graces, favors, or blessings through her intercession are warmly encouraged to share their testimonies,” the memorandum signed by Secretary General Fr. Louie R. Coronel, O.P. read.

The parish formally launched its petition for the image’s coronation on March 21, during a mass dedicated for its 84th anniversary.

An episcopal coronation is formally conferred by a local bishop or archbishop on Marian images with a deep history of veneration in a diocese or community. The act recognizes the faithful’s devotion to the image and acknowledges its significance within a locality.

According to the University, the initiative aims to highlight the longstanding role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Thomasian life.

“Through the years, the Mahal na Birhen ng Santisimo Rosario has remained close to generations of Thomasians—as mother, teacher, intercessor and companion in prayer—gently leading hearts to Christ,” it said.

Testimonies and prayer petitions may be submitted through a Google form, through the Facebook page of the Cofradia de la Virgen del Santisimo Rosario or via email.

Thomasians were also encouraged to participate in the daily rosary at the UST Chapel, held at 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 3:20 p.m. on Sundays. F
