“Where did you learn about the superstitions you follow?”

Sa family ko…. I grew up with the guidance of my lola and siya talaga [ang] naniniwala sa mga pamahiin

“Do you find superstitions absurd or unreasonable?”

I can’t say [that] superstitions are absurd. In the first place, there is a reason why it exists. For example, sabi nila kapag pinagligpitan  mo ‘yung isang tao habang kumakain, hindi na raw magkaka-asawa. It’s not really like that. In reality, it’s a sign of respect.

Sometimes, superstition is just all about logic or common sense […] As a Filipino, superstition for me is guidance to my values. Wherever I go… bitbit ko siya, especially ‘yung mga turo sa akin ng lola ko. We may not realize it, but many of our superstitions are not just made up. We do it as a sign of respect….
