“Why do you stay in the profession?”

“[I]t gives me purpose. I teach kasi production, so TV [production], television siya. Matindi ‘yung [nararamdaman] ko na sense of purpose when I’m teaching kasi alam ko na the students that I’m teaching now, they will work sa field where I belong.”

“What is the best part about teaching?”

“‘Yung kahit presidente na sila ng Pilipinas, kung meron man akong estudyante na maging presidente ng Pilipinas, ma’am pa rin nila ko. ‘Yun’ yung best doon. Kahit anong mangyari, alam mo na you made an impact sa kanila. [The] best part is whenever […] you see them being successful, and sometimes they call you; they take you out for lunch, for dinner, tapos kahit ‘yung nasa abroad, ‘pag bumalik dito, hindi ka makakalimutang balikan.”

“How would you want students to remember you?”

“Gusto kong maalala na teacher na masaya lang. [A] teacher na would want them to learn, na hindi lang nagturo ng mga bagay na kini-quiz, nile-lecture, but also in practical life who helped them grow and embrace change.”
