SEVERAL STUDENTS and organizations in the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB) received recognition for their exemplary academic and co-curricular performance in the 2016 Student Awards Day.
Leading the student-awardees from the Faculty was Behavioral Science senior Zheanne Amira Dantis who received the Rector’s Academic Award after obtaining a general weighted average of 1.149.
Central Student Council Secretary Maria Yvonne Erica Yap, outgoing AB Student Council President (ABSC) Jan Dominic Castro, incoming ABSC President Ysabela Gabrielle Marasigan, and Becarios de Santo Tomas President Hazel Maye Reyes were this year’s Quezon Leadership Awardees from AB.
Sociology senior Veronica Moreno and the UST Sociological Society bagged the Pope Leo XIII Community Development Award.
For their outstanding performance in organizing significant activities in the University, the Asian Studies Society and the Sociological Society garnered the St. Dominic De Guzman Award.
Castro, the Flame News Editor Celso Crisostomo Jr., Jayne Kathlyn Abad, Lilian Sherry Du, Kevin Gamad, Kiarra Luarca, Ma. Sarah Perez, Jan Paola Sawit, Jake Almeer Llerin, Alexandra Nocheseda, Dean Alan Recana, Aleli Joyce Bucu, and Iya Merilles were named as Miguel de Benavides Outstanding Awardees.
These students represented the University in regional, national, and international competitions and conferences.
