THE UST Central Student Council (CSC) will launch a five-day event in commemoration of the International Day of Violence Against Women (VAW) on March 1 to 5.
The event titled “Malaya ba si Ligaya?” aims to show the prevailing “social inequalities that women continue to experience, mainly violence,” according to the council.
Performances depicting stories of women facing abuse inside their homes will be presented during the event.
The council will also hold a webinar to discuss women’s experiences of domestic violence and injustices.
The UST-CSC said that they aim to organize the event together with the annual Student’s Rights and Welfare event, which also accommodates VAW-related cases.
The Flame is one of the media partners of the UST-CSC in mounting the event. F
