THE University of Santo Tomas (UST) announced the completion of the construction of the Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, OP building through a solemn blessing ceremony held Friday as part of the preparation for the limited face-to-face classes.

“Indeed, these game-changing projects will lead to the betterment of our students and stakeholders. The benefits of these will not only be felt now but the future generations ahead,” said Facilities Management Office Director Rev. fr. Dexter Austria, OP.

“We dug the deepest in our drainage improvement. We crossed the closed doors, the closed borders in our link bridge. We flew the highest educational structure in the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Building,” Austria added.

As part of the rites, UST Vice-Rector Rev. Fr. Isaias D. Tiongco, OP earlier officiated a Eucharistic celebration, urging Thomasians to be more like the Blessed Giorgio, and that is by showing “unquestionable love to God.”

“As we bless this building, which bears his name, during this season of advent, this period of waiting in anticipation of the child of Jesus born to us on Christmas day, we implore Blessed Pier Giorgio to assist us in our daily tasks, imploring his intercession, so that those same tasks we do be filled with God’s grace,”  Tiongco said.

Moreover, IPM Construction and Development Corporation President Engr. Jun Flores also expressed their gratitude to the University for entrusting them with the construction of the building.

“We hope that the newly built link bridge in Espana provides safety, peace, and comfort to all those who will be passing. It is also our hope that the new SHS building will be a venue for nurturing our youth and building future leaders,” Flores said.

The building is home to the students of UST Senior High School and UST College of Information and Computing Sciences and to administrative units such as the Education Technology Center, Santo Tomas e-Services Providers, and TOMASInno Center. F
