A JOURNALISM instructor was recognized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for her excellence in statistics reporting for the second time.
Marie Carisa ‘Cai’ Ordinario, Artlet instructor and reporter for BusinessMirror, received her second award for “Best Statistical Reporting in Print Media” during the PSA’s 11th National Statistics Month Media Awards.
“I am grateful to the PSA and to BusinessMirror for both the award and the opportunity to continue writing stories,” she told The Flame.
The UST journalism alumna first received the ‘Best Statistical Reporting in Print Media’ award in 2021, and the ‘Best Online Reporting’ award for her work in news outlet Rappler in 2013.
She emphasized that awards and recognition were not her reasons for writing stories.
“I do my job with or without validation,” Ordinario said, adding that she wanted to give her best in her chosen field.
The Philippine Statistics Authority’s ‘Best Statistical Reporting in Print Media’ award recognizes the “significant role and contribution of media” in promoting and popularizing statistical information from the PSA. Candidates’ entries are judged by their Quality, Effectiveness and Relevance. F
