
TWENTY-FOUR PROFESSORS from the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB) were bestowed the Cardinal Ceferino Gonzales Award for Indexed Publications, which grants University researchers incentives for their journal articles published in recognized databases.
In a Facebook post on Friday, July 25, AB honored its academic staff for their publications across different databases in the previous academic year.
“Cheers to our 24 recipients of the Ceferino Gonzales Award for Indexed Publications for AY 2023-2024 from the Faculty of Arts and Letters,” the post read.
Of the published researchers, 12 were from the Philosophy department, five were from the English department and two faculty members each were from the Literature and Communication departments, one of whom is affiliated with both academic units. Meanwhile, one researcher each came from the Behavioral Science, Journalism, Economics and Sociology departments.
Among the awardees were AB assistant dean, Assoc. Prof. John Manuel Kliatchko of the Behavioral Science department.
UST Research Center for Social Sciences and Education Director Prof. Jeremaiah Opiniano of the Journalism department and Assistant Director Assoc Prof. Katrina Topacio of the English department were also recipients of the award, which is given annually to boost the University’s research productivity.
Other awardees are department chair Prof. Rachelle Lintao and faculty members Prof. Alejandro Bernardo, Prof. Veronico Tarrayo and Assoc Prof. Pia Tenedero of the English department; Prof. Carlos Manapat of the Economics department; Assoc. Prof. Frederick Rey of the Philosophy department; and Asst. Prof. Froilan Alipao of the Sociology department. All of them are members of the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education or RCSSED.
Several scholars of the Research Center for Culture, Arts and Humanities (RCCAH) were also recognized, including RCCAH Director Anton Rennesland, Philosophy department chair Prof. Marella Bolaños and faculty members Assoc. Prof. Roland Pada, Prof. Raniel Reyes, Kyle Barte and Cathlynne Abarejo and Prince Airick Gapo.
Awardees who are part of the Research Center for Theology, Religious Studies and Ethics were Prof. Jove Aguas, Prof. Marciana Ponsaran, Prof. Jovito Cariño and Prof. Fleurdeliz Altez-Albela of the Philosophy department and Prof. Joyce Arriola of the Communication and Literature departments.
Kimberly Quilantang of the Literature department and Rae Quilantang of the Communication department were also recipients of the award. F
