English prof named UST RCSSED officer-in-charge

A PROFESSOR from the Department of English has been appointed as office-in-charge of the UST Research Center for Social Sciences (RCSSED).

 Asst. Prof. Katrina Ninfa Topacio assumed the post on Wednesday, August 19, weeks after Prof. Jeremaiah Opiniano was named chairman of the Journalism department.

Topacio was the assistant director of the UST RCSSED. She was the successor of Asst. Prof Pia Tenedero, also a faculty member of the English department.

Topacio graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in English from UST in 2004. She also earned her master’s degree in English Language Studies in 2009 in the University.

The UST administration also appointed Reuben Jerome Atayde as School Secretary of UST Senior High School, Maria Christina De Leon as Assistant Director of UST Health Service and Fr. Narciso Estrella, Jr., O.P. as the Vice Rector of the UST Central Seminary.

Meanwhile, Fr. Ferdinand Bautista, O.P., was tasked to lead the farm affairs department of UST General Santos. F
