AB assistant dean elected trustee-at-large of PH’s oldest psychological association

THE ASSISTANT dean of the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB) has been reelected trustee-at-large of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP), a professional group of specialists that seeks to promote human and social development.

Assoc. Prof. John Manuel Kliatchko is among the six newly-elected members of the PAP board of trustees for the fiscal year 2025-2028.

As trustee-at-large, he is deemed an active member of the association who may serve in other committees as determined by the board.

Kliatchko is in his second term as the vice president of PAP. He was reelected to the post for the 2024-2025 term.

The assistant dean also heads the organization’s registration committee, which manages the registration process under PAP conventions.

Kliatchko graduated with a Behavioral Science degree in 1986 and finished his master’s degree in psychology in 1998 both at UST. He obtained his doctorate degree in Philosophy major in Social Psychology at the University of the Philippines in 2009.

Kliatchko has handled various courses such as psychology, advanced research methods, and advanced statistics. He previously worked as the faculty secretary of AB and program coordinator for Behavioral Science.

Kliatchko started as a board member of PAP in 2014, serving as its secretary until 2020. He received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the organization in 2012.

Founded in 1962, PAP is an accredited organization for registered psychometricians and psychologists from different regions of the country and the United Arab Emirates. It is the oldest and largest group of psychologists in the Philippines. F
