THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas has fully transitioned to ISO 21001:2018 Standard (Educational Organization Management System), a certification granted to educational organizations that implement “the best practices.”
The University moved from the ISO 9001:2015 Standard (Quality Management System) following the Stage 2 audit conducted by inspection body TÜVSÜD PSB Philippines from Sept. 1 to 4.
According to the results, no non-conformity or minor non-conformity was found among the University’s administrative and academic units during this year’s random audits. Last year, the University got four minor non-conformities and five points of improvement.
Under the ISO 21001, UST is now officially recognized as an educational organization that implements “the best practices” in educational management based on the inspection body’s quality management systems that took after the widely followed ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Meanwhile, the ISO 9001 demonstrates that a company has the ability to “consistently meet and exceed customer expectations” and has “taken due care to maintain high standards.”
The TÜVSÜD provides testing, inspection, management system certification and product certification globally to ensure safety, security, and sustainability in technology and products across various industries.
TÜVSÜD PSB Philippines is one of the appointed inspection bodies of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Product Standards. F
