Tiger Media Network bags four awards in ISBC 2025

FOUR ARTLETS from the Tiger Media Network (TMN) clinched awards across various categories in the International Student Broadcasting Championship (ISBC) 2025, the event’s website announced on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Of the student winners, three are from the Communication department and one is from Creative Writing.

Communication seniors Amara Medrano (Tiger TV talent) and Brianna Valdez (programming head) bagged the People’s Choice-Talent and Best Content/Programme Director awards, respectively. Junior John Morales (Tiger Radio voice talent), also from Communication, secured the title for Best Voiceover.

Fourth-year Creative Writing student Joseph Earl Quintana, who serves as the writers’ pool head, won the Best Copywriting Script award.

Another senior from the Communication department, Julian Felipe (technical operations staff), emerged as a runner-up for the Best Video Execution category.

Tiger Radio, which is under TMN, UST’s broadcasting wing, was a finalist for both Station of the Year and People’s Choice Station award.

Tiger Radio Vinylthon 2025, an event of TMN, was also a finalist for the Best Outside Broadcast.

Six students from the Faculty of Arts and Letters were named finalists in their respective categories: Amber Cruz, who directed Tiger Radio Off Air for Best Established Podcast; Lhiera Trinidad for Best Podcast Talent; Kathleen Vallo for Best Social Media Execution; Loise Bantolo for Best TV News or Sports Feature; Naomi Ravago for Best Newcomer On-Air; and Mylferd Supnet for Best Talk Presenter.

Also included in the finalists lineup is Kyla Lapeña from the Faculty of Pharmacy for the People’s Choice – Content Creator category.

ISBC is a global competition that also serves to connect young broadcasters with industry professionals. Its judging panel consisted of media experts from different countries. F – N. A.
