THE UST Lady Booters slipped to the defending champions FEU Lady Tamaraws, 1-0, in the UAAP Season 87 women’s football tournament at the UP Diliman Football Pitch on Saturday, Oct. 19.
FEU moved up the standings with six points, while UST still has zero on the board.
The Morayta-based squad exhibited its offensive prowess as substitute Marinelle Cristobal found the back of the net in the 75th minute with a well-placed shot, 1-0.
Almost a month off from its last game, the España-based squad came out flat offensively but showed good signs on the defensive end with goalkeeper Lizlie Garcia who recorded 15 saves.
But UST’s momentum was cut short when Karylle Pinili and Erica Mosico sustained shoulder injury and cramps, respectively.
The reigning champions exploited UST’s lapses then pulled away.
UST will look to win its first game when it clashes with the Ateneo Lady Booters on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the same venue. F
