THE UST Growling Tigresses strengthened their UAAP Season 88 championship aspirations after bagging the 2025 RP Basketball League (RPBL) Conquerors’ Classic title on Sunday, August 24, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
UST swept all of its games to secure the crown, besting fellow UAAP opponents and the CEU Lady Scorpions, alongside three wins by default.
Four Tigresses also brought home individual awards, highlighted by foreign student athlete (FSA) Isioma Onianwa, who was crowned the tournament’s MVP.
Meanwhile, teammates Kent Pastrana, Gin Reliquette and Karylle Sierba earned Mythical Team honors.
The España-based team, which recently concluded a two-week training camp in Japan, will look to enter the upcoming UAAP season with new title hopes after a heartbreaking finals loss against the NU Lady Bulldogs last year.
UST will host the UAAP for the first time in nine years, with Season 88 set to kick off at the University grounds on September 19. F
