
THE UST Tracksters stamped their power in the 2025 PATAFA Weekly Relay Series, bagging 23 medals on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Philsports Track Oval in Pasig City.
Mailene Pamisaran, Jeanne Arnibal, Lyka Miravelles and Lheslie de Lima combined for nine medals to anchor UST’s dominant campaign.
Palarong Pambansa champion and rookie sensation Asia Paraase shone in her collegiate debut, striking double gold in the under-20 division.
Paraase won gold in the 5000-meter run after logging 19:16.66. She then claimed her second title in the 1500m with a 4:48.19 finish
“As a rookie, I was really nervous, especially since I’m carrying the name of a university [UST], one of the biggest in the country,” Paraase told The Flame.
Looking ahead to UAAP Season 88, the Central Visayas standout said it will all boil down to trusting her coaches and their training program, as she now dons the colors of gold and black.
In the seniors’ division, Azeneth Serat clinched gold in the women’s 3000m race walk. De Lima (silver) and Pamisaran (bronze) shared the podium in the 400m.
Shiekhy Heart Supremo added a bronze in the women’s 5000m with a 19:40.11 finish.
Arnibal registered 11.57m for silver in the triple jump, while the women’s 4x100m relay team of Arnibal, Miravelles, Pamisaran and Princess Uriarte clocked 50.14 seconds for silver.
The mixed 4x400m relay squad of Jasper Obanon, Pamisaran, De Lima and Pearl Vente stormed to gold with 3:42.16.
Jamela de Asis recorded 10.82m for silver in the women’s shot put, while teammate Rashied Burdeos followed with bronze at 10.72m.
In the under-20 category, Hannah Regaya threw 11.03 meters for silver in shot put, while Courtney Trangia topped the discus throw at 39.77m.
On the men’s side, Almie Peter Aiso finished just two seconds off the winner, timing 15:37.00 for silver in the 5000m run. Mark Joshua Rabaya added bronze in the 1500m with 4:11.43.
Meanwhile, the men’s 4x100m relay team of Michael Sunico, Kevin Banda, Justin Kilat and Jafeth Marquesses placed third with 43.26 seconds.
In the women’s division, Miravelles secured silver in the 100m hurdles, Gian Magbanua bagged bronze in the triple jump with 10.71 meters, while teammates Francine Andrade and Aira Gacusan captured silver and bronze, respectively, in the 3000m race walk. F
