THE UST Lady Booters suffered their second defeat after bowing to the defending champions FEU Lady Tamaraws, 1-0, in the UAAP Season 88 women’s football tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub in Cavite.
After a scoreless first half, FEU finally broke through in the 52nd minute when Judie Rose Arevalo calmly finished off a precise delivery from teammate Angel Egay inside the box.
UST struggled to crack the Tamaraws’ defensive wall, producing just four attempts, only one of which was on target.
While FEU dictated the tempo with 18 shots, eight of them forcing saves from the Lady Booters’ keeper.
The Lady Booters dropped to a 1-2-0 win-draw-loss record, while the Morayta-based squad kept their slate unblemished.
UST will try to bounce back when they close their first round campaign against the Ateneo Blue Eagles on Oct. 4, at the same venue. F
