FOR THE first time in two years, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is set to be hosted at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion (QPAV) in mid-November.
QPAV, which has an almost 5,800-seat capacity, will serve as the venue of PBA Philippine Cup games before the league takes a pause for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
According to the PBA website, the venue will feature a twinbill on Nov. 16, with the NLEX Road Warriors facing the Titan Ultra Giant Risers, followed by the Phoenix Fuel Masters taking on the Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings.
Former Tigers Dave Ando and Bryan Santos will return to UST donning the Fuel Masters jersey.
The last time QPAV hosted the PBA was back on July 5, 2023, with a preseason doubleheader that featured the return of former Growling Tigers Aljon Mariano and Allein Maliksi to the España lair.
Maliksi powered Meralco with 23 points to defeat Mariano and Ginebra, 106-93, in the PBA on Tour matchup.
The PBA will take a midseason break to make way for Gilas Pilipinas’ World Cup Qualifier matchups against Guam on Nov. 28 and Dec. 1 at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Last September, the QPAV was the main venue for UAAP basketball as the Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena were occupied for the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship. F
