GOLDEN TIGRESSES icons Eya Laure, Alina Bicar and Caitlin Viray are set to reinforce the Choco Mucho Flying Titans alongside former teammate Sisi Rondina in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the team announced on Thursday, Jan. 1.
The reunion revives the core that steered UST to the UAAP Season 81 finals in 2019 after an eight-year drought, before eventually bowing to the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 2-1.
“They bring the grit, speed, and fire that will make every match unforgettable,” Choco Mucho said in an Instagram post.
Laure will make her long-awaited PVL return following a contract buyout from the Chery Tiggo Crossovers ahead of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference.
While away from the league for a year, Laure remained active on the international stage with Alas Pilipinas, helping deliver medal runs in the AVC Challenge Cup and the SEA V.League.
Former UST captain and setter Bicar also left Chery Tiggo, which disbanded in the PVL last December.
Fresh from a stint with the Farm Fresh Foxies, opposite hitter Viray is set to reunite with her Season 80 beach volleyball partner Rondina once again.
Rondina, meanwhile, continued to add to her illustrious career, capturing the country’s first-ever beach volleyball gold in the recently concluded 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
The former Tigresses will link up with former finals tormentors Deanna Wong, Kat Tolentino and Maddie Madayag ahead of the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.
Choco Mucho also secured the services of former UP standout Jaila Atienza. F
