Marie Carisa ‘Cai’ Ordinario, also a reporter for BusinessMirror, was awarded best reporter for macroeconomy during the 30th Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP) business journalism awards last Nov. 25. Ordinario also won the best feature story for her report “Pandemic highlights PHL property problems for poor Pinoys,” published on July 9 last year. “It really all boils down to hard work,” Ordinario told The Flame. “Of course, I have to credit my colleagues in the Business Mirror because it’s different if you get support from the organization that you belong to." BUSINESS JOURNALISM is not just about reporting profits and number crunching but is also about telling the stories of the people hardest hit by the pandemic, business journalists said.
