A JOURNALISM professor bagged two awards at the inaugural Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Broadcast Arts Awards, which recognizes outstanding personalities, programs and content creators in television, radio and digital media.
Asst. Prof. Christian Esguerra was named Best Podcast Host, while his online show “Facts First” earned the Best Podcast plum during the awarding ceremony held on July 20 at The Manila Hotel, according to a FAMAS Facebook post.
Esguerra has been discussing critical political and governance issues in his podcast since 2019.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 2000 and his master’s degree in Theology major in Social Pastoral Communication in 2011, both from UST.
Before launching his online show, Esguerra worked as a multimedia correspondent from 2015 to 2020 and as news anchor from 2016 to 2022 at ABS-CBN. He was also a reporter for the Philippine Daily Inquirer from 2000 to 2015. F
