THE UST Philets and Artlets Alumni Association, in partnership with the UST Alumni Association and Artlets Student Council (ABSC), will hold the first in-person grand alumni homecoming in three years to celebrate the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB)’ 127th founding anniversary.

The event, “The Splendor of Philets and Artlets: 127 Years of Grandeur and Glory” will be held on March 18, 1 p.m., at the Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan City.

It is expected to be attended by AB alumni members coming from different batches from the 1960s. Current Artlet seniors are also invited.

The AB grand alumni homecoming will highlight the official launch of the alumni’s programs such as the AB Competency Leadership Study of Batch 1969, Adopt-An-Artlet Scholarship Fund, Manifestation of Solidarity, and AB Alumni-ABSC Continuing Leadership Development Series.

Founded in 1896, UST AB marked its 125th founding anniversary in 2021.

As part of AB’s yearslong quasquicentennial celebration, the alumni association held a face-to-face fellowship assembly last year that gave tribute to the former deans and regents of AB and relaunched its projects.

“The difference between that (fellowship) and the homecoming is that for the homecoming, it is bigger and more open to attendees considering we are expecting around 400-500 target participants while the attendees in the fellowship were only allowed around 100 participants,” ABSC VP Internal Ierathel Tabuno told The Flame.

The UST Philets and Artlets Alumni Association aims to continue the Thomasian service through commitment, competence, and compassion by contributing to high-value professional development for the UST AB and its students.F
