TIGER MEDIA Network founding head Asst. Prof. Faye Abugan will end her term as the assistant director of the UST Communications Bureau after three years but will be the new business manager for the University’s official broadcasting arm.
Business manager for TMN Earl Pantoja, also a faculty member of the Marketing Management department, will officially replace Abugan as the assistant director of the Communications Bureau starting Jan. 1, 2025.
“While my time as Assistant Director has come to an end, I will continue to serve as Business Manager for this term. In this capacity, I remain committed to supporting TigerTV and Tiger Radio as platforms that showcase your stories, talents, and passion,” Abugan told The Flame.
“Being part of the vibrant and dynamic student media community has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role, she added.
A veteran broadcast professor, Abugan graduated with a Communication Arts degree from UST in 1993, where she would later earn her master’s degree in communication at the Ateneo De Manila University in 2008.
The outgoing assistant director teaches communication-related courses at the University. She was also an executive producer of various television programs on TV5 Network from 1994 to 2016.
One of her latest recognitions was the Best College Television Adviser, Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Len Mailloux Management Awards in 2023, held in New York City.
The UST communications bureau was established in 2018. It manages the broadcast and online media regarding University-related news. F
