Number of UST enrollees rises by 2.3% in the second term of AY 2024-2025

AB posts highest enrollment turnout for the first time in eight years

A TOTAL of 41,605 Thomasians enrolled in UST for the second term of academic year 2024-2025, higher by 2.3% than the 40,657 enrollees in the same term last year, the final tally from the Office of the Registrar showed.

However, the figure is lower by 3.1% than last term’s turnout of 42,941 enrolled students.

Data obtained by The Flame also showed that the University registered 34,320 enrolled students under its various colleges, faculties and institutes.

The University’s basic education, which comprises the education high school, junior high school and senior high school, recorded 7,285 enrollees.

For the first time in eight years, the Faculty of Arts and Letters lured the most number of enrollees   at 3,827, of which 1,155 are freshmen, 1,110 are sophomores, 791 are juniors and 771 are seniors.

The faculty last posted the highest number of enrollees during academic year 2017-2018 in both terms.

The Faculty of Engineering closely followed with a total count of 3,822 students, while the Faculty of Pharmacy drew 3,204 enrollees. Before this semester, both faculties were taking turns in leading the enrollment tally.

Enrollees in the College of Commerce and College of  Science reached 2,707 and 2,649, respectively. Meanwhile, the College of Information and Computing Sciences had 2,327 enrolled students.

The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management welcomed 2,041 enrollees while the College of Fine Arts and Design had 1,833 enrollees in its different courses.

A total of 1,827 students enrolled in the College of Architecture while the UST Alfredo M. Velayo – College of Accountancy tallied 1,747 enrollees.

There were 1,584 enrollees in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, while the Graduate School gathered 1,535 enrolled students.

The College of Education attracted 1,227 students for this term. Meanwhile, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences and Faculty of Civil Law logged 1,159 and 758 enrollees, respectively.

The College of Nursing had a total of 690 enrollees, while the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics posted 434 students.

The Conservatory of Music recorded 431 enrolled students, while the Faculty of Sacred Theology posted a total of 177 enrollees.

A total of 117 students were enrolled in the Graduate School of Law while the Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Canon Law recorded 99 and 76 enrolled students, respectively.

There were also 49 students enrolled in UST’s different review classes and short courses.

Regular classes for the 2nd term began last Jan. 13. The University ran the extended enrollment period from Jan. 18 to Jan. 27. F
