THREE OF the six positions in the Central Student Council (CSC) will be held by students of the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB), the Commission on Elections announced on Saturday, April 25.

Legal Management junior Annie Nicholle Agon was declared CSC president after securing 16,581 votes out of 26,356 total ballots cast, earning her second consecutive term as head of the university-wide student government.

Agon previously served as vice president and assumed the presidency following a vacancy in the post.

The vice presidency went to fellow Legal Management third year student Franz Rickhayle Salangsang, who ran unopposed and received 16,407 votes.

In the treasurer race, Communication junior Zedrich Charles Daz secured an uncontested win with 16,020 votes.

For the public relations officer post, Architecture student Mecaella Sean Carl Capalar clinched the position after obtaining 11,414 votes, defeating Errol Arvy Salamatin from the Faculty of Pharmacy, who received 5,152.

The secretary position remained vacant after 9,358 chose to abstain from the voting, exceeding the votes for the two aspirants. Artlets junior Clarence Isaac Mindo only garnered 8,565 votes, while Psychology student Elijah Charles Viola got 8,433.

No candidate ran for the auditor position this year.

Under CSC election rules, vacant positions, such as the secretary and auditor positions where no candidate or decisive majority emerged, will be decided through a Central Board election, in line with the provisions of the CSC Constitution of 2003. F
