THE UNIVERSITY will mark the upcoming UAAP season through its first in-person kickoff party since 2019 entitled “UAAP Kickoff Party 2022: Tiger Resurgence” on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
The event aims to revive the Thomasian spirit on-ground while celebrating the University’s fifth consecutive UAAP general championship win.
The festivities include four events: a three-part media campaign called “UST Tiger TV Sports,” the 2022 Kickoff Party, the relaunch of UST Tiger TV’s premiere sports show “The Frontrunners,” and the Alumni Basketball Game, where 17 members of the UST Growling Tigers’ current roster will be competing against 10 notable UST alumni.
Confirmed members of the UST Growling Tigers roster are Kyle Magdangal, Paul Manalang, Jamba Garing, Ivan Lazarte, Nic Cabañero, Richi Calimag, Royce Mantua, Miguel Pangilinan, Kenju Duremdes, Soysoy Escobido, Echo Laure, Ian Herrera, Christian Manaytay, Adama Faye, JJ Gesalem, Kendall Valentin, and Ivanne Calum.
Meanwhile, the UST Alumni team will include Sen. Joel Villanueva, and former PBA players Chris Cantonjos, Bobby Jose, and Jeric Fortuna.
Both the Kickoff Party and Alumni Basketball Game will be held in person at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillion at 1 p.m.F
