by SHAYNE LEE MACARAEG The UST Growling Tigers are now on a four-game losing streak as they are outgunned by the UE Red Warriors, 78-68, in the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball eliminations at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, Oct. 16. UE defeated UST for the first time since UAAP season 80 dating back to October 7, 2017. Things got physical at the 2:01 minute mark of the third quarter, causing Tigers’ big man Adama Faye to be thrown out of the game due to a disqualifying foul on Red Warriors’ Harvey Pagsanjan. Tigresses demolish Lady Warriors with a 63-point blowout

by SHAYNE LEE MACARAEG The UST Growling Tigresses prove their consistent prowess after an overwhelming 63-point victory, 107-44, over the UE Lady Warriors in the first round of UAAP Season 85 women’s basketball tournament. UST holds the second best record as it improved to 4-1 win-loss card. UE is still winless with a 0-5 record. Tigresses’ Tacky Tacatac led all scorers with 27 points as she grabbed four rebounds along with three steals on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena. After a close opening quarter with UE only trailing by three points, 18-15, it was a wrecking job for the rest of the game after the Tigresses adjusted their defensive scheme, closing the first half with a huge lead, 52-26. UST to begin UAAP Season 85 with “Tiger Resurgence” kick-off party

By AUBREY SHANE LIM THE UNIVERSITY will mark the upcoming UAAP season through its first in-person kickoff party since 2019 entitled “UAAP Kickoff Party 2022: Tiger Resurgence” on Wednesday, Sept. 28.  The event aims to revive the Thomasian spirit on-ground while celebrating the University’s fifth consecutive UAAP general championship win.  The festivities include four events: a three-part media campaign called “UST Tiger TV Sports,” the 2022 Kickoff Party, the relaunch of UST Tiger TV’s premiere sports show “The Frontrunners,” and the Alumni Basketball Game, where 17 members of the UST Growling Tigers’ current roster will be competing against 10 notable UST alumni.  Confirmed members of the UST Growling Tigers roster are Kyle Magdangal, Paul Manalang, Jamba Garing, Ivan Laz...
