THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas (UST) has become the first higher education institution in the country to complete the ASEAN University Network Digital Transformation (AUN Dx) assessment, a benchmarking process that evaluates digital governance and information and communications technology (ICT) systems in tertiary institutions.
The two-day assessment, held on May 28 and 29, assessed the University’s digital capabilities using the AUN Dx Quality Management Framework version 1.04, which measures performance in project governance, product development, service management, information security management and organizational management.
UST received formal recognition during the AUN Dx meeting on June 26 at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, where it was acknowledged as one of only two participating ASEAN higher education institutions to complete the pilot assessment.
Assistant to the Rector for ICT Jerralyn Padua led the University’s delegation together with representatives from the Santo Tomas e-Service Providers, the Educational Technology Center and faculty experts from the College of Information and Computing Sciences.
The AUN Dx’s “One Platform, One Protocol” approach integrates internationally recognized standards into a single framework, allowing institutions to evaluate and improve their digital systems through a more streamlined process.
AUN Dx also promotes collaboration among ASEAN universities through training programs, workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on digital innovation, ICT management and emerging technologies.
Launched in 2024, AUN Dx seeks to help universities advance digital governance by promoting ICT standards, regional collaboration and innovation across universities in Southeast Asia. F
