
THE UST Golden Tigresses dominated the Enderun Colleges Lady Titans on the opening day of the 2026 Shakey’s Super League Collegiate National Invitationals, 25-18, 25-17, 25-13, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Sunday, July 19.
The opening game marked the return of Season 87 players Em Banagua, Ashley Knop, and Bianca Plaza, while rookies Kim Rubin, Aneeza Santos and Erica Gutierrez made their senior team debuts.
The Golden Tigresses maintained dominance throughout all three sets, handing the 4-peat NAASCU champions, Lady Titans their first loss in the tournament.
UST set the atmosphere early in the game as the Tigresses maintained the lead throughout the first set as foreign-student athlete Blessing Unekwe secured set one for the España-based squad, 25-18.
The Lady Titans struggled in finding their rhythm as UST raced to a 18-10 lead in the second frame.
Enderun’s Michaella Ma tried to answer with a spike of her own, but the ball sailed outside, giving the point and another set to UST, 25-17.
The Golden Tigresses unleashed a 13-4 run to open the third set and never looked back, closing out the sweep with a 25-13 victory.
Tigresses’ new captain Reg Jurado and Cassie Carballo missed action for today’s game, but is set to play as part of the squad’s lineup.
