FOR THE first time in three years, the official theater guild of the Faculty of Arts and Letters will stage its production titled Maoyu Transit for onsite viewing. The play will be held in the Tan Yan Kee Student Center AVR on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Artistang Artlets’ Maoyu Transit tells the story of bus driver Mang Domeng’s encounter with a runaway mother and daughter. Written by Erin Moira Balbin and directed by Ma. Cecilia Foja and Jemina Rose Macasaet, the production tells a story of freedom and relief from one’s troubles.
The play is for the theater guild’s 43rd Seniors’ Theater Literacy Program, aiming to teach its viewers about the intricacies of theater and storytelling. This production’s theme is the significance of symbolism.
The production will perform four runs, with the opening show at 1:00 p.m. and the closing performance at 4:00 p.m.
Since its establishment in 1980, Artistang Artlets has held its productions onsite before shifting to online plays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. F
