THREE ARTLETS Student Council (ABSC) interim officers filed their leave of absence, citing academic and personal concerns as reasons, according to a memorandum released Tuesday by the ABSC.
Gabriel Lapid, interim auditor, and Elan Karsten Castañares, interim treasurer, will temporarily leave their positions from April 26 to May 8.
Lapid and Castañares said that they will be focusing on their “academic requirements, mental well-being, and personal matters,” as mentioned in the memorandum.
Meanwhile, Interim Vice President (VP)-Internal Gerald Matthew Dela Cruz will take a break from his duties starting April 20 to May 8.
Dela Cruz cited “thesis, other academic requirements for this semester, and personal reasons” as the basis for his leave of absence.
Executive Coordinator to the VP-Internal Jannelle Bonifacio will be in charge of the duties and projects of Dela Cruz.
Rielle Chloe Bernabe, executive coordinator for the treasurer, will similarly take over for Castañares while Angelo Rafael Co, executive coordinator for auditor, will take over for Lapid.
The interim officers’ term was extended as the UST Central Commission on Elections postponed the central and local student council elections last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. F
