THE FACULTY of Arts and Letters (AB) will be holding face-to-face solemn investiture rites this year on three different schedules as pandemic restrictions ease.

“This is to inform you that the Solemn Investiture this AY 2021-2022 will take place on June 10-11, 2022 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion. Due to the pandemic, we shall have three schedules for the different programs,” the Office of the Dean said in a memorandum dated May 20.

Graduating students from the Communication and Journalism programs will hold the ceremony on June 10 at 7:00 a.m. Graduates of batches 2020 and 2021 will also attend the event. The two previous batches held their graduation rites virtually in July last year as mass gatherings were still prohibited then.

The solemn investiture for graduates from Asian Studies, Behavioral Science, Creative Writing, Economics, English Language Studies, and Literature will be held on June 11 at 7:00 a.m.

History, Legal Management, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology seniors will hold their graduation activities on June 11 at 1:00 p.m.

In the memorandum, Dean Marilu Madrunio and Regent Fr. George Phe Mang, O.P. also urged the graduating students to attend the virtual orientation, where all pertinent information about the rites will be given.

The schedule of the in-person Baccalaureate Mass and Solemn Investiture Rites was first announced on May 7 as the National Capital Region remains under the lowest alert level status.

The Baccalaureate Mass of class 2022 will be held on June 3 at 4 p.m., while that of batches 2020 and 2021 will be on June 4.

During the ceremonies, the University will not hold its traditional fireworks display in solidarity with the people who have been greatly affected by the pandemic. F
