THE COORDINATOR of the Creative Writing program was recognized for one of his books during the fifth Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards (FRCA).
Joselito Delos Reyes, who is the program’s head since 2019, was among the 30 Filipino authors who received the award last Dec. 2.
Delos Reyes’ work, #PASAHERO: Mga Nakikisakay na Sanaysay, earned the title of Filipino Readers’ Choice award in the second batch of the nonfiction category.
The FRCA dedicated the first batch of awardees for books published from 2015 to 2018 and the second batch of awardees for books published from 2019 to 2021.
The selection cycle for the winner in each batch and category went through three phases: the readers’ public nomination, the readers’ voting, and the panel of judges’ deliberation.
The event, presented by the Book Development Association of the Philippines, acclaimed the best Filipino books in the categories of comics and graphics novels, fiction in Filipino or Taglish, fiction in English, romance in English, romance in Filipino or Taglish, fiction anthology, young adult fiction, children’s picture book, food or cookbook, history, poetry, nonfiction, inspirational or religious, humor, and translated work.
