SECURITY PERSONNEL deployed at the Paskuhan concert did not detect any suspicious item following an inspection that stemmed from a bomb threat comment, the Campus Safety and Security Office (CSSO) director said.

CSSO Director Juliano Salmasan Parena, Jr. said campus security inspected the areas where large swathes of people gathered such as the UST open field, grandstand and the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. building.

According to Parena, the order came from the University after a bomb threat comment was posted on a livestream thread of TigerTV.

“Immediately our internal security team was dispatched to look at all of the areas na posible na, kung meron man (if there are any), to look for anything out of the ordinary. Eh wala naman (there was none),” he told The Flame.

The event security began the inspection this morning and reached the Grandstand at about 12:50 p.m., checking the stage and surrounding areas along with a K-9 unit.

“Precaution. Precautionary measures. That is normal. This year, we decided to have more precautionary measures. We have a big event,” Parena said.

One of the added precautionary measures are stricter gate entries, bag checking and the closing of gates at the UST open field.

Parena encouraged Thomasians to immediately report to the security personnel anything they find unusual.

“If for example, they see someone leaving behind a bag or ng box, they should not touch it. Inform us and we will handle it to take precautionary actions.”

“If you see something, say something. Report anything unusual to our security officers. Just keep us informed always.” F
