THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas will host the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections for the voters of Manila District 4 on Monday, Oct. 30.

In a circular dated Oct. 26, the Office of the Secretary-General said the St. Raymund de Peñafort and Benavides buildings would serve as the polling precincts originally assigned to the Ramon Magsaysay High School, which is under construction.

Voters assigned to the Benavides building must go through Gate 10, located near Rosarito street, while those designated to the St. Raymund de Peñafort building must go through Gate 11 near Antonio Street.

Gates 10 and 11 will also be used as the pick-up and drop-off points since vehicles will not be granted entry to the campus during the elections.

Gate 7 at Padre Noval Street will remain open to visitors of the Santisimo Rosario Parish chapel, while Gate 14 in Lacson Avenue will accommodate patients and visitors of the UST Hospital and the UST Carpark.

The University advised voters, volunteers and officials experiencing flu-like symptoms to wear well-fitting face masks.

To locate their designated polling precincts, voters can visit Comelec’s online precinct finder via https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph/.

The Manila government also imposed a city-wide liquor ban from Oct. 29 to Nov.  2 in preparation for the barangay and SK elections.

This year’s barangay and youth council election will be the first to take place since 2018. It was initially scheduled in December 2022 before Congress passed a law postponing it to the last Monday of October 2023. F
