UST to start academic year 2025-2026 slightly earlier than usual

THE UNIVERSITY will kick off the next academic year a bit ahead of its usual schedule on Aug. 7, according to an academic calendar issued by the Office of the Secretary General.

Since 2021, the University had been scheduling the first day of regular classes on Aug. 9. The University will have 208 school days like the previous years.

The freshmen orientation activities are scheduled for Aug. 1, 4 and 6, starting with the UST Cloud Campus introduction, followed by the virtual Roarientation and Thomasian Welcome Walk.

Preliminary examinations will start on Oct. 8, followed by the Undas break, which will be from Oct. 30 to Nov. 4.

The finals period will begin on Dec. 12, while the much-awaited Paskuhan festivities, including the grand concert and fireworks display, will take place on Dec. 19.

For the second term, registration will begin on Jan. 12, 2026, and regular classes will resume on Jan. 16.

The University-wide retreat will be held from March 4 to 6, followed by the preliminary period, which will start on March 18.

Graduating Thomasians will take their final examinations starting May 9, while regular students will begin theirs on May 26.

The Student Awards Day, wherein students are recognized for their academic and extracurricular achievements, will take place on May 22.

The Baccalaureate Mass, which marks the end of graduating students’ academic journey, will be held on May 29. It is traditionally celebrated through a mass by the rector, followed by the Ceremony of Light and the symbolic march towards the Arch of the Centuries.

The Solemn Investiture rites, where Thomasian graduates are conferred their degrees, will commence on June 1, with the schedule varying among colleges, faculties and institutes.

For the special term, registration will start on June 6, while classes will begin on June 10. The preliminary and final periods will start on July 1 and 20, respectively. F
