MORE THAN 12,000 incoming Thomasians are expected to walk through the Arch of the Centuries this academic year, according to partial data from the Office of the Registrar.
First-year enrollment increased to 12,554 students on Aug. 5 from 9,684 on Aug. 3, based on data obtained by The Flame.
The Faculty of Arts and Letters recorded the highest number of enrollees at 1,192 as of Aug. 3. The Faculty of Pharmacy followed at 974.
The College of Commerce and Business Administration posted the third highest freshmen enrollees with 868, while the Faculty of Engineering followed with 853.
The College of Science logged a total of 844 incoming freshmen, while the UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy recorded 656 new students. The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery had 595 first-year enrollees.
The College of Education posted 572 new students, followed by the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management with 552 and the College of Information and Computing Sciences with 510.
The College of Fine Arts and Design logged 482 freshmen students while the College of Architecture and the College of Rehabilitation Sciences followed with 445 and 385 freshmen enrollees, respectively.
The College of Nursing recorded 247 new students, followed by the Graduate School with 207 and the Conservatory of Music with 102.
A total of 102 new students from the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics are also expected to enter the Arch of Centuries.
The Faculty of Theology posted 50 new students, while the Faculty of Canon Law and the Faculty of Philosophy lured 36 and 32 new students, respectively
The Graduate School of Law recorded 20 incoming Thomasian students. One student is expected to take short courses or review classes for this academic year.
The Faculty of Civil Law is yet to log first-year enrollees as of writing.
The Thomasian Welcome Walk and ROARientation are annual traditions for incoming first-year Thomasians. Because of bad weather brought by Tropical Storm “Maymay,” onboarding activities in the basic education level initially scheduled on Wednesday, Aug. 5, will be moved to a later date.
The last day of the enrollment period is on Aug. 7, the same day as the start of regular classes. F
