Outstanding Artlets recognized in Student Awards

STUDENTS, organizations, and societies from the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB) received recognitions for their excellent academic and co-curricular performance during the 2017 Student Awards Day held May 12.

A total of 22 university-level awards were given to Artlets.

Leading the student-awardees was Behavioral Science (BES) senior Kristine Quiambao who received the Rector’s Academic Award after obtaining a general weighted average of 1.254. She is the Faculty’s batch valedictorian this academic year.

Former Arts and Letters Student Council (ABSC) president Ysabela Marasigan, Student Organizations Coordinating Council executive vice president Meryl Cayla Guintu, Communication Arts Students’ Association (CASA) president Jerald Carl Andres, Artlets Economics Society (AES) president Jude Rodel Basea, Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) president Alyssa Patrisse Alonzo, project head for Model ASEAN 2017 Monica Therese Aligam of Asian Studies, and project head for JPMAP Publication Hazelyn Lariza of BES received the Quezon Leadership Award.

Quezon Leadership Award is given to an officer of a recognized organization in the University for his/her ability to lead and organize activities that are of significance to UST.

BES major Emmanuel Martin Lauz, AB Rotaract, UST History Society, and the Legal Management Society received the Pope Leo XIII Community Development Award, which is given to a student or group of students who exhibited outstanding involvement in community development programs.

For their outstanding teamwork in organizing their respective activities, the ABSC, BES Society, AES, Legal Management Society, and CASA received the St. Dominic de Guzman Award.

Sociology senior Erika Valencia was given the St. Albertus Magnus Award for the publication of her outstanding research work in a conference.

BES senior Kierra Luarca, Legal Management seniors Wynona Marie Silverio and Maylene Pailma, and CA junior Jake Almeer Llerin were given the Benavides Outstanding Achievement Award, an honor given to students who have shown exemplary performance in competitions, conferences, or congresses.
