THE PRESIDENTIAL and vice presidential debates organized by CNN Philippines will be held this month at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion, with the majority of the candidates attending live.

Of the ten presidential candidates, nine have confirmed their attendance to the debate on Feb. 27 namely former presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, former defense chief Norberto Gonzales, labor leader Leody de Guzman, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Faisal Mangondato, Jose Montemayor Jr., Sen. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, and Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo.

Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who skipped the Jessica Soho presidential interviews and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas presidential forum, is the only presidential bet who will not attend the debate supposedly due to a conflict in schedule.

Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Carlos Serapio, Sentate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, and medical doctor Willie Ong also agreed to join the debate on Feb. 26.

CNN Philippines said Marcos’ runningmate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will skip the debate but did not cite her reason.

The debate will be broadcasted live on the CNN Philippines television channel, website, and Facebook account from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. F
