THE UST Alfredo M. Velayo (AMV) College of Accountancy condoled with the family of its alumnus who was found dead in Cavite after being missing for more than two weeks.

“The UST-AMV College of Accountancy mourns the passing of our alumnus, Anthony B. Granada, a BS Management Accounting graduate from the Class of 2023,” the college said in a statement on Sunday, June 22.

“We express our condolences and sincerest sympathy to the bereaved family of Anthony. Let us keep Anthony, his family, and his friends in our prayers during this difficult time,” it added.

Anthony, a law student of the De La Salle University-Bonifacio Global City, was last seen on June 8 riding a Grab vehicle from his condominium along C-5 road in Taguig City.

The police said a CCTV footage had shown Anthony walking alone on Lopez Jaena Bridge in Manila at about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.

His body was around in Naic, Cavite about two weeks after he was reported missing.

The late student’s brother, Ricky Granada, announced the retrieval of his brother’s body in a Facebook post on Saturday, June 21.

“In behalf of my family, we want to express our sincerest gratitude to each and everyone for all your support and prayers during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a great comfort to our family,” Ricky said.

“As we navigate this period, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our family’s need for privacy to grieve in the moment.”

The De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law also expressed its grief over the death of Anthony and called on its community to “unite as a family” during this period.

“School administrators have been in contact with the family since the student was first reported missing, and guidance counselors are in constant communication with the classmates,” the law school said in a statement posted on social media on Sunday, June 22. F – J. G. Oliveros
