THE UST Teletigers Esports Club (UST TGR) outplayed the UE Zenith Warriors, 2-0, in the opening day of the UAAP Season 87 esports NBA2K tournament at the Gateway 2 Quantum Skyview on Tuesday, May 13.
UST TGR grabbed the top spot in Group B with three points via a sweep.
In the first match, Teletiger Daemiel Argame commanded the Boston Celtics to dispatch Ceanne Manalastas’s Phoenix Suns, 69-48.
It was a similar affair in the second game as UST captain Erxy delos Reyes used Oklahoma City Thunder to thrash Cyden Ordoña’s Boston Celtics, 70-42.
“I am proud of them, they gave their best as they dominated both the first and second game. All of their hard work paid off,” UST head tactician Augusto de Jesus III told The Flame.
“For the upcoming games, they just have to do what they do every day and just enjoy to keep their composure,” he said.
UST, also led by Delos Reyes, finished with a bronze medal in the inaugural season last year.
Teletigers will look to continue their winning momentum when they face the NU Bulldogs Esports Team on Wednesday, May 14, at the same venue. F
