
FR. ROMAN Santos, O.P., who has served multiple stints in three branches of UST, has been installed as the ninth rector and president of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba during its solemn investiture on Monday.
Santos officially assumed his post on June 23, the Dominican Province of the Philippines announced in a Facebook post.
“The Dominican Province of the Philippines celebrates the Solemn Investiture of the 9th Rector and President of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba, Br. Roman L. Santos, OP.,” the post read.
“We keep Br. Roman in our prayers as he leads Letran Calamba. May his leadership, rooted in the Dominican tradition, continue to foster a culture of conscience, discipline, and excellence, in the service of God, the country, and Letran.”
Santos’ appointment to the post was first announced by Letran Calamba on April 28. Prior to this, he handled various key posts in UST Manila, General Santos, and Legazpi.
He was the acting regent of UST College of Education and of Education High School during the second semester of academic year 2024-2025.
In 2024, he was also named the assistant archivist of Archivo de la Universidad de Santo Tomas and UST General Santos farm affairs head.
The Dominican priest also served as the director of finance at UST Hospital in 2022 after his stint as assistant vice president for finance at UST Legazpi in 2020.
A licensed pharmacist who entered the clergy in 2007, Santos succeeded Fr. Napoleon Encarnacion, O.P., who served as Letran Calamba’s rector from 2021 to 2025. F
